One of the most reliable Mobile Crane Companies in Ontario!
Our mobile crane rentals are great for jobs that require a highly versatile, yet easy to use machine. These cranes are specifically designed to easily transport to a job site and use with little or no setup or assembly. Mobile cranes can be one of two types; the cable-controlled variety that is mounted on rubber-tired carriers or crawlers, or the hydraulic-powered model with a telescoping boom either mounted on a truck or self-propelled.
Mobile cranes generally operate a boom where a hook is suspended by wire ropes and sheaves. Whether by steam engine, electric motor or internal combustion engines (IC), the wire ropes are operated by whatever means are available. The transmissions on older cranes mostly tended to be clutches. This was later changed with the use of internal combustion engines to match the “maximum torque at zero speed” characteristic of the steam engine, by adding a hydro-kinetic element, winding up in controlled torque converters. This setup can now be achieved by the use of an electronic control of hydro-static drives. Because of size and other considerations, this is becoming standard. Innovative implementations of this type are converting to a demolition crane by adding a demolition ball, or conversion to an earth mover by adding a clam shell bucket, although design details can limit their performance.
